Former Egypt goalkeeping coach Zaki Abdelfattah criticised Rui Vitoria just days before the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) kicks off.
The Pharaohs are set to take part in the upcoming AFCON in Ivory Coast and will begin the tournament with a clash against Mozambique in their opening game on January 14th.
Head coach Rui Vitoria already announced his travelling squad, which raised a few eyebrows after excluding a number of players led by Hussein El-Shahat and Yasser Ibrahim.
The latter was recently called up however to replace Pyramids defender Osama Galal, who sustained a knee injury recently during training.
Speaking on Vitoria, Zaki Abdelfattah slammed the Portuguese manager and called him out for his decision-making after an incident that occurred during the last international break.
The former Benfica boss opted to keep Tarek Hamed, Hussein El-Shahat, and Emam Ashour on the bench for 90 minutes against Djibouti as the trio later failed to make the trip to Sierra Leone despite being fully fit.
“The Egyptian Football Association have no vision,” Abdelfattah told Al-Shams TV channel.
“I said it before that Rui Vitoria is a good manager, but he has no experience at an international level, and he came to try something new at our expense.
“In every camp they have, you will find problems because it’s the first time he is coaching a national team. This was evident in the last international break with the exclusion of certain players.
“The fact that he talked Abdullah El-Said into coming back from his retirement to join the team and then went back on his decision says a lot about him.
“This is very unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful to such a great player like him. I have been between clubs and national teams for 31 years.
“Vitoria is inexperienced! I don’t think it’s the right approach to make plans and tie someone like him to a four-year contract because he clearly does not have the same vision as the association,” he added.
