Piers Morgan has issued a fierce defence of the ”royal rock star Kate” following a week of frenzied public attention.
The Princess of Wales has been subject to wild conspiracy theories over her withdrawal from public life as she recovers from abdominal surgery which she underwent in January.
“Kate Middleton is now the biggest star in the Royal Family and has become a crown jewel who must be protected at all costs,” Mr Morgan wrote in The Sun.
The former Talk TV host’s intervention came as Archbishop Justin Welby warned that society was becoming “obsessed with conspiracy” as he criticised those speculating about Kate’s health.
“We have little sense of the humanity of those who are caught in the glare of the news,” he said.
Kate is understood to be easing back into normal life by focusing on her campaign dedicated to improving the lives of newborn babies after having surgery in January.
It was revealed this week that three people have been suspended for allegedly accessing the Princess of Wales’s medical records while she was a patient at The London Clinic.

Distrust of the monarchy only intensified after Kate admitted that she edited an official family photo, and palace officials have struggled to regain control of the narrative as conjecture and conspiracy theories persist.

Royals eager to put ‘Katespiracy’ behind them, says King’s former butler
The Prince and Princess of Wales are “keen” to have speculation regarding the royal family behind them, according to King Charles III’s former butler. Kate has been subject to conspiracy theories regarding her health after she had an abdominal procedure in January. She has not undertaken any royal engagements while she recovers, leading to speculation about her whereabouts. Grant Harrold told the New York Post: “I think they’re keen to close the chapter on the gossip and the conspiracy theories and return the focus to the royals and their duties.” Kate is understood to be easing back into normal life by focusing on her campaign dedicated to improving the lives of newborn babies.
