Egypt’s 2023 AFCON group opponents Ghana have named their final 27-man squad which will travel to play in Ivory Coast.
The Pharaohs and Ghana were drawn together in Group B, featuring Portuguese-speaking Cape Verde and Mozambique.
The African giants will play against each other in matchday two on January 18 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, just four days after Egypt faces Mozambique and Cape Verde facing Ghana.
Coached by former Brighton boss Chris Hughton, Ghana will enter the tournament without their key man Thomas Partey, who has been absent from the Arsenal squad with an injury since October.
Brighton explosive wing-back Tariq Lamptey has also missed out on the squad with an injury alongside Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana and Freiburg’s Daniel-Kofi Kyereh.
On the other hand, Bilbao star Iñaki Williams will feature in his first-ever AFCON, partnering up West Ham inform man Mohamed Kudus and the experienced Ayew brothers.
