Pyramids FC have completed the double signing of Marwan Hamdi and Mahmoud Zalaka from Al Masry and Ceramica Cleopatra FC.
The deals are Pyramids’ first and second of the winter transfer window as they hope to strengthen their squad ahead of the resumption of domestic football after the 2023 AFCON.
Hamdi, 27, joins from Al Masry for a reported fee of €744k after falling out with manager Ali Maher and the club’s board and the club has been trying to offload him this January.
He scored just once in five games for Al Masry this season and prior to his time in Portsaid, Hamdi played for the likes of Zamalek, Smouha, Misr El-Makkasa, and Wadi Degla.
On the international level, the 27-year-old has 12 caps to his name in which he scored one goal and was part of the Egypt team that reached the 2021 AFCON final.

Meanwhile, Zalaka, arrives from Cleopatra FC, having been playing for the team since September 2022, joining from Petrol Asyut.
The 25-year-old plays mainly on the left wing and featured 10 times for Cleopatra FC this season, scoring one goal and helping them win the League Cup last season.
Both players have signed four-and-a-half-year deals that will keep them at the club until June 2029.
