Ugandan forward Travis Mutyaba has reportedly arrived in Cairo ahead of completing a winter move to Cairo giants Zamalek.
Despite being just 18, Mutyaba has already been capped 11 times by Uganda, having made his international debut at 16.
He joins Zamalek from Ugandan side SCV Kampala for a reported fee of $220,000 and has put pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Mutyaba is expected not to take up any foreign spot in the squad as he will be registered as a youth player; however, will play mainly for the first team.
The player was reportedly close to signing for Gerogian side FC Dinamo Tbilisi, but Zamalek entered the race and snatched his signing.
He will become Zamalek’s third winter signing after Tanta’s Mohamed Atef and El-Dakhelya’s Mohamed Yasser.
Zamalek are keen on saving their season as they currently sit 12th on the league table with 11 points from eight games, just four points away from the drop.
