Fresh off of a disappointing African Football League exit at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly defeated Arab Contractors on Saturday night to make it three wins out of three in the league.
The Red Devils, who made a few changes to the starting line-up that faced Sundowns on Wednesday, got off the mark in first half injury-time, when Taher Mohamed scored against his former side with a left-footed strike.
It took almost forty minutes for Al Ahly to double their lead, when Emam Ashour found Mohamed Hany just outside the area, as the latter’s deflected strike slowly found the net.
It only took a few minutes for the Mountain Wolves to get back into the game, when Joseph Ochaya finished past Mostafa Shobeir from the spot. However, the goal wasn’t enough to salvage anything from the game for Shawky Gharib’s men.
