Ittihad Jeddah have reportedly identified Jose Mourinho and Julen Lopetegui as potential candidates to become their new head coach.
The Saudi Pro League champions recently dismissed Nuno Espirito Santo following their 2-0 defeat to Iraq’s Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the AFC Champions League group stages.
Their poor run of form also saw Ittihad drop to sixth in the league table and go 11 points adrift of rivals Al-Hilal at the top.
According to a report by Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Jose Mourinho and ex-Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui are among the proposed names on Ittihad’s list.
Loptegeui has reportedly been contacted by the club and turned down Ittihad’s first offer, explaining that he doesn’t like leading a team once the season has started.
Former Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner has also been rumoured to replace Santo at Ittihad, but the Austrian manager is currently on a sabbatical, according to reports.
