Egypt national team head coach Rui Vitoria has demanded more from his side despite their win against Sierra Leone.
The Pharaohs defeated Sierra Leone 2-0 on Sunday in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
Mahmoud Trezeguet’s double was enough for Egypt to return home with all three points in their final game of the November international break.
The win cemented Egypt’s place at the top of Group A with six points as Rui Vitoria expressed his delight with the result after the game.
“We knew it would be a difficult away game,” Vitoria said after the game. “But the most important thing is that we were able to come away with the victory because we did not play perfectly.
“The team has now scored eight goals in the first two rounds of the qualifiers and we also haven’t conceded yet which makes it a good start for us.
“The conditions certainly did not help us. Long flight, hot weather, high humidity, and an artificial pitch made it difficult for us,” he added.
