Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi is reportedly linked with a potential return to England in the January transfer window.
Hegazi has been sidelined for seven months after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear back in May this year.
The 32-year-old was also said to be heading towards a January exit with former Ittihad manager Nuno Santo reportedly keen on freeing up their wage bill.
However, with the arrival of Marcelo Gallardo, it seems Hegazi’s future could take a turn as he nears a return ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
But according to a report by TEAMTalk, Sheffield United and Vincent Kompany’s Burnley are the two Premier League sides keen on bringing in Hegazi.
EFL Championship outfits Middlesbrough and Cardiff as well as Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic are also reportedly among interested suitors.
Hegazi’s current contract runs until the summer of 2026 and his departure would reportedly require a fee in the region of £1.5 million.
