Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Mohamed Salah will be a bigger star than Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
Salah has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League last summer with Liverpool reportedly rejecting a £100m bid on deadline day.
The Egyptian is still rumoured to be heading to the Middle East in the next transfer window with Karim Benzema’s Ittihad Jeddah and Al-Hilal keeping tabs on Liverpool’s no.11.
Paul Robinson is adamant that Salah will not be part of the Reds’ squad next season as the latter has the right motivation to depart Anfield after seven years.
“For me, it’s a done deal,” Robinson said via Liverpool ECHO on Salah potentially leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.
“For his personal ambitions, his personal wealth and for his hereditary wealth to leave for his family. Not just that, but because of his religious beliefs. Playing in that league, he will be an icon.
“Cristiano Ronaldo was taken over there at the start of it all, but he can’t play forever. Mohamed Salah, in that league, tops Ronaldo. The interest that it spikes and the revenue that he brings to that league.
“That will be the biggest deal that the Premier League has ever seen, I have no doubt,” he added.
