Egypt national team head coach Rui Vitoria commented on Mohamed Salah’s role in their victory over Tanzania on Sunday.
The Pharaohs edged Tanzania 2-0 evening in their final game ahead of the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mahmoud Trezeguet gave Egypt the early lead before Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah sealed the win with a late penalty.
Speaking after the game, Rui Vitoria talked about his side’s performance and gave an update on his injured players.
“We wanted to make sure that everyone is fit and ready today,” Vitoria said in the press conference.

“I think everyone is performing at the highest level because they want to earn their place in the squad but I can only choose 11 players in the end.
“Salah playing a central midfield role? It was clear today that he can play that part and he doesn’t necessarily have to play on the wing at all times.
“Omar Kamal has a minor injury that will need to be assessed but Yasser Ibrahim is now ready to play for us,” he added.
