Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Sasa Kalajdzic from Wolves as Omar Marmoush departs for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Marmoush has had a sensational season for Frankfurt so far under Dino Topmoller, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists in all competitions.
The Eagles however will lose Marmoush in the next six weeks as the 24-year-old will be part of Egypt’s lineup in the 2023 AFCON, set to take place in Ivory Coast.
As a result, the Bundesliga side decided to seek reinforcement in the current transfer window and have acquired former Stuttgart centre-forward Sasa Kalajdzic on a short-term deal.
The Austrian will make his return to the German top flight on loan until the end of the season with no purchase option to make him stay beyond June according to Sky Germany.
“Sasa has already proven that he can play a very good role in the Bundesliga,” Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche said.
“His way of playing will bring a new component to our game. He is a strong player with a good position and header game. We are firmly convinced that he can help us immediately due to his experience.”
