Ghana’s star Mohammed Kudus feels Ghana deserved more against Egypt, saying ‘careless mistakes’ made the Pharaohs draw.
Egypt were held to another frustrating 2-2 draw against Ghana in their second game of the competition’s group stages.
The Pharaohs conceded before the end of the first half with Mohammed Kudus firing Ghana into the lead before Omar Marmoush restored parity after the break.
Two minutes later, a lapse in concentration allowed Kudus to complete his brace and score Ghana’s second but Mostafa Mohamed levelled the scoring for Egypt late in the game.
Man of the Match Kudus said: “I’m happy to be back.
“I worked so hard to get back to the top and help my team, my nation. It’s important for me to be here.
“It’s a mixed feeling. As a forward, you want your goals to have an impact on the result.
“We made careless mistakes. Now we’ll have to get back to work, win the next one, and then see what happens.
“We are not out. The objective remains the same, which is to take the trophy home.”
