The Egyptian Football Association have announced that Emam Ashour has suffered a head injury and a concussion during today’s team training.
The statement read that national team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela provided immediate medical attention to Ashour, who was rushed to the hospital and underwent all necessary examinations.
The scans confirmed a concussion, but his condition is currently stable, and the player will be kept under medical observation at the hospital for the next 24 hours.
Emam Ashour has been one of Egypt’s stars in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, playing all three group games and impressing against both Ghana and Cape Verde.
This marks the third injury in the Egyptian camp after Mohamed Salah and Mohamed El-Shennawy, who both have been ruled out until the end of the tournament.
