Africa champions Al Ahly have received a loan offer for Ahmed Abdelkader from Turkish club Sivasspor.
Abdelkader has a contract with Al Ahly until June 2025, making him a part of the team until the end of the upcoming season.
However, the forward has been struggling for game time under head coach Marcel Koller, making just seven appearances this season, scoring a goal, and providing two assists in a total of 248 minutes on the pitch.
Abdelkader was not also included in Al Ahly’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, where the team secured the bronze medal, marking the club’s fourth achievement in its history.
Speculations regarding the player’s future intensified, with clubs like Smouha, Ceramica Cleopatra, and Qatari side Al-Wakrah previously expressing interest in him.

Reports have now emerged that Turkish outfit Sivasspor entered the race to sign Abdelkader and have already submitted a bid to sign the player on loan until the end of the season.
Al Ahly is open to loaning the player but cautious about the offer’s financial terms, with negotiations currently underway.
The winter transfer window in the Turkish league closes on February 9th, and Sivasspor currently occupies the 10th position in the league standings with 30 points.
Sivasspor were also said to be interested in club teammate Mohamed Magdy Afsha in the summer of 2022, but the Reds rejected their bid.
