Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet has revealed his delight after scoring the winner against Gençlerbirliği, stating that he aims to win the Turkish Cup.
Mahmoud Trezeguet scored a late winner to secure Trabzonspor a spot in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup.
The goal came in the dying moments of the first half of extra-time after both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the opening 90 minutes.
Trezeguet said via Turkish channel A spor: “Thank God for reaching the next round and, God willing, we will continue on our path until the final. Our goal this season is to win the Turkish Cup.
“We have good players and a great coach, and with our fans, we will try together to achieve something.
“The last match against Beşiktaş, I think we deserved to win it but we were not fortunate on the field and we missed many opportunities.
“We tried again today, and in life, you have to fight, and thank God we won. We will fight for the club’s shirt and our journey,” he added.
The goal is Trezeguet’s fifth of the season in 15 games, which also saw him provide two assists for the Karadeniz Fırtınası.
