Egypt have drawn Spain for the second consecutive edition and the Dominican Republic in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Young Pharaohs qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics after finishing second in the 2023 U23 AFCON, losing to hosts Morocco in the extra-time.
The participation will be Egypt’s third in the last four editions, having reached the quarter-finals in both the 2012 and 2020 editions.
This year, Egypt find themselves against familiar opponents Spain, who they drew in the 2020 Olympics when they played out a 0-0 draw in the group-stages.
Accompanying both teams are the Dominican Republic, who came second in the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, as well as the runner-ups of the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, who are yet to be determined.
Under the leadership of 2016 gold medal winner Rogério Micale, Egypt will hope to clinch their first-ever medal at the Football Olympics, with their best achievement coming at fourth in the 1964 edition.
