Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, has announced the absence of the Egyptian international, Mohamed Salah, from the team’s roster due to a recurrence of his AFCON muscular injury.
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the Egyptian is suffering from fatigue after playing more than a half at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
Mohamed Salah should have participated in the last Brentford match for only the last 20 minutes after recovering from injury. However, an injury to his teammate, Diogo Jota, forced Jurgen Klopp to take a risk by involving Salah for the entire second half.
The Egyptian star managed to lead his team to a 4-1 victory, contributing to a goal and scoring one himself. However, he felt a pull in his hamstring at the end of the match, prompting the medical staff to rule him out of participation again until he completes his recovery period.
Klopp clarified: “Salah has experienced some discomfort in the same area of the previous injury in the hamstring, and he felt a little fatigue in the area of the injury that recently affected him.”

“The problem at Brentford was that we had changed already twice and if we let him play a little bit longer and say ‘OK how does it feel now?’ That could have been it so we had to decide half-time so we had another opportunity to change in the second half.
Klopp added: “We will now monitor Mohamed Salah’s condition day by day, and it’s not alarming, but we have to see what will happen.”
Liverpool confirmed that Salah’s injury will keep him out of the team until the second week of March, as he will miss the match against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, Southampton in the FA Cup, and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League before facing Manchester City in the league on March 10th.
